My First Official Class

Last night I had my first class with my mentor, Brandis. I learned alot and am super excited to get outdoors and start taking pictures. There is so much to learn. Brandis does an amazing job at showing me everything and giving great pointers for when I'm ready to start. I spent two and a half hours with her, but trust me, I could have spent hours upon hours with her. I'm just so excited to learn. And when I am learning something, I don't want to stop until I know it all. It just drives me crazy. I think Brandis is doing wonderful at teaching at a great pace. Let me tell you, this can all be so overwhelming when you are first learning.

I have spent today taking some of the skills I learned last night and trying to apply them to some of my photos. Now mind you, these photos were not taken with my Nikon D90, but are still great pictures. Are you ready?!?!?!

Now this 1st photo was taken over the summer at Jeffries mansion. I love that place. It has great scenery for some wonderful pictures. This photo was taken with my old sony. It didn't turn out bad but I can't wait to go back there for a photo shoot with my D90. This is the before shot!!

And this next one is of my rotten boy, Kyle. Trying to get him to stop and smile is just a joke anymore. When I get the camera he automatically will turn his head another way. But on this day, we went as a family to Smith Farms to get pumpkins. That is the day that we found out Kyle LOVES pumpkins and smiles non stop. He was super cute that day. Now if I could just keep pumpkins year round, I could get alot more smiles out of that boy:)

So let me know what you think. I love working on photos. There are so many things that can be done in post editing. I will spend the next week or so picking a couple pictures a day and editing them different ways to see just what I like!!!
